Crooked-armed cello soundtrack and a sound design with a guitar case

Yes! This is precisely a crooked-armed performance on the cello.

In 2021, I bought a cello because I was very interested to see if I could master it. I quickly realized that this would take years. Well, at least 1 year to make some pretty sounds. However, the cello was very useful to me when producing the score for the horror film "Zalmoxis" (dir. Serge Darowski). The cello plus my inability to play it gave amazing results in terms of sound - floating, creaking and creepy sound perfectly suited the video sequence

Filming took place during the winter. I was on the set as a sound recordist, we were freezing outside, plus the shooting was in the apartment.

And finally, sound design. To record the raw sound, I used various items that were at hand. For example, the case from my electric guitar, the sound of which became the creepy sound of the slamming door of the apartment of the main character of the film.

As film composer Alan Silvestri said, music is born from the imagination, it is very difficult to explain this process in a logical way. I couldn't agree more, because if I liked the project / script / synopsis / story, then the music will definitely be born

Yours, Evo Jackson
